| Value | A step that helps the learner do what they need to do |
| Value stream | Every step from learner need to demonstrated performance |
| Flow | Work moving without unnecessary stops or hand-offs |
| Pull | Support and materials provided when they are needed |
| Lead time | Trigger to useful learner outcome, including waiting |
| Touch time | Time actually spent adding value |
| First-pass quality | Work completed correctly without rework |
| Constraint | The step that limits the whole flow |
| Standard work | The best-known way to do the task today |
| Kanban | A visual board with limits on work in progress |
| 5S | Sort, set in order, shine, standardise, sustain |
| Kaizen | Small, continuous, evidence-led improvement |
